I have been back to work for just over a month now. I will go into much more detail about that later, but I wanted to share this quick little post right now.
After a very long, busy week, I dropped my daughter off this morning feeling like I had barely spend two minutes with her. So tonight I postponed my 6:30pm pump and dinner (which will be leftover frozen pizza because it’s quick and I forgot to take the meat out to thaw) to spend an extra thirty minutes snuggling my sweet baby girl while she napped.
This really captures the spirit of what I want this blog to be about. No matter how high the dirty dishes are stacked, or how long the clean clothes have been sitting unfolded in the laundry basket, or whatever else is going on, the most important thing in the world is to spend time with your child. My life right now revolves around my pumping schedule, but pumping moms know it often feels like we are giving up so much time with our babies to pump.
Give yourself permission to put everything else on hold for a few minutes to snuggle your little baby. They need that affection just as much as they need the milk you’re pumping. And as any mom knows, they won’t be this little for long!
